"Interest in Homespun has increased in the past few years, deservingly so. Here is a pattern that is delicate in look without being as fragile as many patterns. Homespun pieces have smooth edges that tend to be lacking many of the intrinsic flaws found in the majority of Depression Glass.
Although Homespun was made in crystal (clear), this is a pattern predominately found and collected in pink, which Jeannette Glass called "Wild Rose." Homespun is a pattern chock full of tumblers, nine in all, but after locating the 3.75" footed tumbler, the others become challenging to acquire. One can reasonably suspect that the reason so many tumblers exist is that some of the tumblers were packaged inside soap and baking products, "free" with a purchase.
Child's tea sets in some patterns have become quite available online. These patterns have suffered decreasing values over the past four or five years. This is not the case with Homespun child's pieces; they continue to be difficult to find."
The butter dish was also a jam dish. Jeannette marketed a "Toast and Jam Set" that consisted of the butter dish/jam dish, the 13" platter or tray, and a creamer and sugar. Presumably this would offer a lovely way to present the breakfast condiments."
This particular beautiful butter or jam dish has some small fleabite chips around the edge of the bottom piece and a small area of fleabite chips on the inside edge of the lid. The chips can be felt but not easily seen. Examine photos closely.
